The Bible Year started with a goal that was actually pretty simple: Brittany Rust wanted to read the Bible in a year.
At the time, Brittany had been a Christian for nearly 20 years. She loved Jesus, loved Scripture, and had spent years serving in ministry—but there was one thing she had never managed to do. Read through the entire Bible. She had tried before. And, like a lot of people, she had started strong, fallen behind, and eventually given up.
So at the end of 2018, Brittany decided to try again. This time, she created her own reading plan with one goal in mind: read the Bible in a year in 2019.
But as she started putting the plan together, she had a thought: Maybe I'm not the only one who needs this. Already an established contributor on YouVersion, she put the plan on the app, created a few free resources to go along with it, and invited other people to join her.
And something pretty amazing happened. People joined. And they kept joining.
Since its launch in 2019, thousands of people around the world have used the reading plan to successfully read through the Bible in a year. What started as Brittany's personal goal became a community.
And in 2026, that community was rebranded as The Bible Year—a name that better captures what this has always been about: helping people get into God's Word and make Scripture a part of their everyday lives.

Because knowing God starts with knowing His Word.
We firmly believe that the more we know God, the more we love Him. And the primary way we come to know Him is through His Word.
The Bible tells us who God is.
It shows us what He is like.
It teaches us what He loves.
It reveals His character.
It gives us wisdom for how to live.
And it anchors us in truth when the world around us is constantly changing.
We don't need more opinions about God. We need to know what God has actually said. And in a culture where biblical literacy is fading and countless voices claim to speak for Christianity, knowing Scripture for ourselves has never been more important.
The Bible isn't just something Christians are supposed to read because we're supposed to read it. We need God's Word because we need God.
And we believe you don't have to be a Bible scholar to read it. You don't need hours of free time or a seminary degree. You just need a Bible, a little consistency, and a desire to know Him.

Brittany Rust is a bestselling author, Bible teacher, credentialed minister, and the founder and president of Truth x Grace Ministries.
She has spent more than two decades serving in ministry and helping people grow in their faith. She is passionate about making biblical truth accessible, practical, and relevant to everyday life.
Brittany has published multiple books and Bible resources, leads the women's ministry at her local church, and serves in ministry leadership and education.
But The Bible Year is especially close to her heart because she knows what it's like to want to know the Bible but not know where to start—or to start and not finish. She created The Bible Year because she needed it herself. And now, she wants to help you do the same.
